God’s Photo

This is a photo I took a long time ago, but it’s GOD’S photo.  Back then, I shared this as much as possible once we discovered what was in it.

Way back on August 28, 1990, an F5 tornado hit my hometown of Plainfield, IL.  It was a monster and our home was pretty much right in the middle of it’s deadly path.  High School, Catholic Church, other business and hundreds of homes destroyed.  29 people lost their lives, including my favorite teacher from High School, Mr. Hunt.

It was a nightmare to experience, but there were so many wonderful people helping the victims.  I can still ramble on about that day and the months/years after, but the reason I’m writing this is because of this picture.

Along with God’s Photo, I’d taken a ton of pictures of our destroyed home the day after the storm.  But it wasn’t until several days later, it might’ve been weeks, when my sister and I were going through the photos.  This one touched our hearts and souls like nothing we ever experienced, once we finally recognized what was there.

This is the back of our house.  To the right is our neighbors garage roof.  But it isn’t the destruction to concentrate on.  It’s the sky.  Can you see the “LOVE” there?  God is Love.

I knew I had to share this wherever I could. Back then it was mostly newspapers.

But I also shared with friends, family, neighbors, anyone who experienced the storm in that dear small hometown of mine. And now, 29 years later, I still want to share it. God’s given me another platform right here to do so.

Psalm 19:1 says “How clearly the sky reveals God’s glory. How plainly it shows what He has done.”

Before, during, and after any storm of life, He is always there for us.

Miracles are everywhere! Look for them, expect them, in any situation, never give up on God.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope it is a blessing to you. There have been so many “signs” in my life, there is no doubt in my mind what is real. God Bless!
